Events and traditions organised by the Estonian Society for Music Education

Contests and festivals:
* contest-festivals of small children’s choirs (1994, 1998, 2003)
* contest-festivals of children’s choirs (1992, 1996, 2001)
* contest- festival of women’s choirs (1995)
* contest-festivals of youth choirs (1995, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2005)
* festivals “Rhythm inside and around me” (1998, 2000, 2004)
* contest-festivals of instrumental music (1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005)
* contest “The best music classroom of the millennium” (2000)

In 2003, at the initiative of the Estonian Society of Music Education, the National Children’s Choir of Estonia was founded with Lydia Rahula as the Chief Conductor.
In 2004 a project for making single grants to music teachers, choir conductors and conductors of wind orchestras in general education schools, with a total amount of 5 million EEK, was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research.

National contests of music education in 2002 , 2004 ,2006,2008 (in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research and the Estonian Academy of Music.
